Federation Contemporary Library
This project challenged me to design a contemporary space inspired by the Australian Federation Nostalgia Era. I created a library room within a residential home that celebrated the character of the Federation period through its architectural detailing, while incorporating contemporary furnishings and finishes to modernise the interior.
In today’s design landscape, restoring and updating historical homes has become a common and valued practice. I approached this project intending to preserve key Federation-era elements to maintain the home's original charm, while introducing thoughtful modern touches to enhance functionality and style.
The library was modelled in SketchUp with a strong focus on spatial hierarchy and balance. I then used V-Ray to produce a photorealistic render of the design, capturing still imagery and creating a 360-degree panoramic view to fully communicate the atmosphere and layout of the space.
